Stop working in silos and start workforce collaboration

Driven by the need to remain relevant in their own markets and not be disrupted by new entrants or agile competitors, Enterprises today have recognised that they need to embrace the journey to Digital Transformation.

Significantly, firms have seen they need to transform their understanding of their existing customers; not only know what they like or dislike about the company products and services but also what they are looking for as users of future products.

If as a reseller, you are discussing Digital Transformation with your clients – and you should be, then that journey clearly needs to address the necessity to stop working in silos and start workforce collaboration.

The classic fault lines in departmental silos can be seen when the marketing silo designs new products that are either too expensive or incorrectly featured. The sales silo could have pointed out the problem in an instant but the two teams never collaborated.

Examples such as this demonstrate that team based collaborative applications are the perfect solution to working in groups rather than the legacy functional method.

The fact that these team collaboration applications are available on a cloud based, Pay as You Go deployment model means that they can be accessed on most devices and at any location makes their deployment an ‘easy win’ for companies with remote workers, mobile workers and those with national or international footprints.

For resellers, this means having conversations with clients that are highly current and relevant; cloud based pay as you go solutions that contribute towards mitigating the risk of disruption by making their organisation more responsive and agile.

It’s not hard to disagree with analyst firm IDC when they say ‘Collaboration platforms embody the opportunity of digital disruption. They are people-powered, use new behavioural metrics and positively affect standard business KPIs.’

It’s highly likely therefore that team and workgroup based collaboration applications will feature highly on the agenda of all firms seeking a customer centric outlook and gain competitive advantage through increased business agility.

Resellers should consider which applications best suit their customers and in 2018 it’s clear that this market is maturing in terms of enterprise class applications with the stage now set for a competitive market as firms invest in software to connect their employees.

The key for resellers is how will the team collaboration application integrate and work with the user’s core communications platform which is why Inclarity is pleased to be working with Stretto, an application fully integrated in to our platform for mobile collaborative working within teams.

For channel partners, one of the best differentiators for collaborative working is the mobility play – can the application readily be used on devices such as smartphones and connected tablets. If there is any hesitation from the supplier when you ask this question then you know it’s time to move on.

We all want loyal and sticky customers and there’s no doubt that team collaboration apps fit that mould in terms of having users relying on the reseller as both the trusted advisor and the supplier that helps them deploy and support them through initial phase to benefit realisation.

And with that trend set to continue resellers should ride the team collaboration wave.
